– The NY Daily News’ Andy Martino reports that the Mets and RHP R.A. Dickey have avoided arbitration by agreeing to a 2-year extension with a club option for 2014. Dickey, who would have become a free agent following the 2011 season, had a surprise 2010 campaign, posting a 2.84 ERA and 1.19 WHIP over 174 1/3 innings.
